To win the North Atlantic Conference Championship, New York bested their crosstown rivals the Brooklyn Italians. Zaire Bartley was the sole scorer for New York in regulation, as the match was decided in penalties. After four rounds of successful kicks from both sides, Cosmos keeper Kevin Tenjo made a decisive save which allowed Jonathan Borrajo to win it for the New York Originals.
@RepudiatorsSG btw has it set in yet that @FCFrederickPRO will be playing the New York freaking Cosmos in a day's time?

FC Frederick’s got to this point by defeating FC Baltimore 2-1 in the Mid-Atlantic Conference Finals after defeating Northern Virginia United in penalties. Although they squeezed into the playoffs on goal difference, they have been making the most of the opportunity.
Midfielder Rafa Garcia will miss this match due to a red card picked up against the Italians. The Cosmos depth will continue to be tested as they go further and further through the playoffs. New York’s bench has been doing wonders so far, especially the likes of Zaire Bartley who has made his presence known even if not in the starting eleven. Especially after playing two extra time matches in the span of a week, it's

easy to make the comparison to the World Cup finalists Croatia. Luckily for New York they won’t have to play a golden generation France squad if they get to the finals.
The Cosmos and FC Frederick will kick off at 7pm at Commisso Stadium.
