This weekend the Cosmos kick off at Hofstra against The Elm City Express.
In their last match, the Cosmos remained undefeated against the Seacoast United Mariners, winning 4-2. For New York, Neeskens opened the scoring and Bardic grabbed New York’s second. Newcomer Jalen Brown, nycomos.com’s featured player this week, scored the go-ahead goal in his first start and Darwin Espinal capped off scoring with a late penalty kick to secure the Cosmos three points and the continued pride of the undefeated run.
A goal in his first start.

The villain of the week this time around is Elm City Express, who last year won the NPSL championship in their inaugural season. This campaign, they are find themselves on the outside looking in of the NPSL playoff picture and a win against New York would put them only one point away from the coveted 4th playoff spot. With their championship experience, Elm City could be a serious threat to New York’s goal of an undefeated season.

As a humble brag, I haven’t even needed to check the standings up to this point since Cosmos B has been so confident. Peep the New York Orignals’ 3 points/games played average.
