Scout the NASL: Nov. 13 - Nov. 19

A lot has happened this past week in the NASL. Regardless of what happens, Scout the NASL will always be here for you and the New York Cosmos. Let’s get to it.

FC Edmonton

Edmonton announced the departures of four players this week, including feared striker Tomi Ameobi. All four of their contracts came to an end, so I’m assuming it has nothing to do with the status of the NASL.

Indy Eleven

The Indianapolis Business Journal says that the Indy Eleven still have a shot at the MLS. Their chances might have increased a little bit with the departure of North Carolina FC.

Jacksonville Armada FC

The Armada took a look back at this past season which was the third year of the franchise.

Miami FC

Miami coach Alessandro Nesta has reportedly resigned from the club and plans to go back to Italy. Nesta surely had success in Miami, capturing first in both the Spring and Fall Season standings. Nesta also was one of the best center backs in history with A.C. Milan, notable for covering Lionel Messi very well. Just a note worth putting out there.

North Carolina FC

This is the last time you’re going to see NCFC in Scout the NASL. The Carolina based club has joined the USL.

Puerto Rico FC

PRFC continues to aid the community. It’s really great to see the squad coming together as a team, and as an island.

San Francisco Deltas

Are the Deltas really folding? The Mercury News reported so a couple of days ago, but now the report comes with some questions as there was no confirmation from San Fran themselves.

Interesting Read

Our friends that cover Orlando City for SB Nation’s The Mane Land note that the potential loss of the NASL could have a huge impact on Florida’s soccer teams.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are reportedly backing the New York Cosmos and the NASL to save the league, according to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. Great to see that people are taking notice.

If you’re a fan of the Seattle Sounders, Houston Dynamo, Columbus Crew, or Toronto FC, then you’re in luck. Catch the first legs of the Conference Finals this week. We highly recommend you stay a Cosmos fan, and a Cosmos fan only.
