Today the Cosmos announced the return of defender Jimmy Mulligan and Keeper Kyle Zobeck to the club

Jimmy Mulligan has been with the Cosmos for three years. He spent the first half of the 2016 season on loan to Swope Park Rangers before being called back in July. Mulligan made the most of his starts with the Cosmos, proving to be a promising young defender. Before playing for the Cosmos he captained St. John’s Men’s Soccer team.

In the club’s official press release Mulligan said the following:

Kyle Zobeck signed with the Cosmos in 2014. He has made six appearances for the club, most recently in a 2-1 loss to the Indy Eleven in the 2016 Spring Season. Although the keeper hasn’t gotten much playing time, he is loved by the fans as a cult hero, and if Jimmy Maurer leaves for MLS he could be the Cosmos’ number one keeper.

The Cosmos have yet to sign an offensive player, but it’s nice to see so much stability in the back. At the moment, the Cosmos could field a full back four with players from the 2016 season (Although Ayoze hasn’t signed yet, once could get create with the two returning right backs.). Hopefully throughout the week we will see more players return!
