Yesterday, the New York Cosmos signed right back Ryan Richter from the Philadelphia Union. Richter has previously played in the NASL before in 2015, where he was a part of the Ottawa Fury team that the Cosmos defeated for The Championship. This season he has played for Bethlehem Steel FC where he led the team in appearances, goals, and assists.
Excited and humbled to join @NYCosmos as the next chapter in my career. An amazing opportunity with an amazing club. pic.twitter.com/1qOQ4d1jaT

In the club’s press release, Richter has said the following on his return to the NASL:
Signing an experienced right-back like Ryan Richter is a smart move for the Cosmos. He seems like the ideal replacement for Hunter Freeman, who took his talents to South Beach a few weeks ago. Richter also has playoff experience and knows what it’s like to play in the Championship final (I guess if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em!). Going forward, Richter could be a big piece in a Championship winning Cosmos side.
First #NYCosmos training session in the books.
