The New York Cosmos return home after a thrilling win in Miami to face the Jacksonville Armada at Hofstra University tonight at 7:30.
Jacksonville, who finished second to last in the Spring standings, are looking to keep the momentum from last week's 2-1 home victory over NASL newcomers Puerto Rico FC. Despite their dismal Spring Season and historic inability to win away from home, Jacksonville's current form cannot be underestimated. In their last three games, they've recorded two draws and a win, and certainly have a hunger to prove themselves on the road and to justify their current spot as tied for second in the Fall standings.
The Cosmos, on the other hand, may struggle somewhat with fitness considering that they have played three games, two on the road, in the past eight days. New York currently sits top of the Fall standings, but need a win to cushion their two-point lead, especially this early in the season.
So far, the player for Cosmos fans to look out for is the red-hot Lucky Mkosana, who has bagged the winner for New York in the last two games, most notably in squeaky-bum time against Miami, giving us a spark of the Cardiac Cosmos that we've missed so much this season.
Overall, I personally fancy the Cosmos to come away with the win over a relatively weaker Armada, who have repeatedly failed when they're away.
The game is at Hofstra at 7:30, and you can watch the clash on ONE World Sports, or stream it from oneworldsports.com.
