Cosmos concede twice in stoppage time, lose to Indy 2-1

The New York Cosmos dropped their first match of the NASL season on Saturday night in Indianapolis, a match that looked like it would be another victory with just minutes left to play. It was yet another tough result against the Eleven, who never fail to show up and give the Cosmos a tough test, especially at home.

New York got out to an early lead in the 51st minute, when Niko Kranjcar scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot. While Indy played very well all match, with stoppage time approaching, looked like it would be a third consecutive win for New York.

Eamon Zayed had other ideas, though, and equalized from the penalty spot just into stoppage time. Not satisfied with a fourth consecutive 1-1 draw, he then found the back of the net again after five extra minutes had been played, handing the boys in green and white their first loss of the season.

Up next for New York is another tough test on the road, when they head to Minnesota to take on United. Hopefully, they'll manage a better result in that one than they did last night.
