Former New York Cosmos forward Haji Wright officially joins Schalke 04

When Haji Wright signed with the New York Cosmos last March, most suspected it would be a one season deal, with the then 17-year old expected to head to Europe following the NASL season. Sure enough, Wright has now officially joined Schalke 04, beginning his European journey.

For Wright, this will be a big step up in terms of the competition he'll be facing, as well as the players he'll be training alongside every day. Hopefully, he'll impress, and earn his shot with the Schalke first team, a development which would almost certainly lead to a call up to the USMNT.

Best of luck in Germany, Haji. We all enjoyed having you in New York during the 2015 season, and can't wait to see your Schalke debut.
