NASL expected to confirm CBS television deal on Thursday

New York Cosmos

The past week has seen several major announcements from the North American Soccer League in terms of television and internet coverage, with the league confirming that Spring Season matches will be televised on ONE World Sports and beIN Sport, and streamed on ESPN3. On Thursday, Jonathan Tannenwald is reporting that another announcement is forthcoming, and that we'll be seeing 12 Fall Season matches on CBS Sports Network, in addition to those being broadcast on ONE and beIN.

With the CBS deal, fans of NASL clubs will have yet another option to watch matches from outside of their local market, which is always a good thing. It will be interesting to see the specifics when the league confirms the deal on Thursday. In all likelihood, none of the 12 CBS matches will include the New York Cosmos (as was the case with the deal with beIN) due to the club's agreement with OWS.
