The new York Cosmos have been a bit busier of late, making moves to bolster their attack after losing several key player this winter. This week, we've learned of another big name who is in training with the boys in green and white, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Niko Kranjcar.

Krancjar has been getting back into match shape with the NASL champions, and Head Coach Gio Savarese had the following to say about the situation:

"Niko is looking to maintain his fitness. We saw it as the perfect opportunity to invite him to train with us during the preseason. We are looking forward to having his quality in training for the next few weeks."

Meanwhile, Krancjar also spoke about the arrangement, and hinted that he might feature in a friendly or two this February:

"Training with the New York Cosmos allows me to focus on getting back to fitness and potentially get some competitive game time during preseason. New York is a great place, so the opportunity to focus on my football and experience this city is one that suits me perfectly right now."

The Cosmos first preseason match will take place in Los Angeles on February 20, when they face Armenian club FC Ararat Yerevan. It would be interesting to see Krancjar involved in that match, as he, along with the pair of Venezuelan internationals added last week, would make a formidable group supporting whoever starts at striker.
