An Announcement from Twice A Cosmo

There are big things coming… but we need your help!

Cosmos Country,

My name is Michael Chiara and I’m your new site manager of Twice A Cosmo. I am currently a student at Fairfield University where I study Information Systems and Creative Writing. On one faithful day, my dad brought home a copy of FIFA 10, and like so many others that was gateway into the beautiful game. I’ve made some of my best friends playing FIFA and talking soccer and I’ll be forever grateful to the game. Besides from supporting the Cosmos, I support Arsenal and I am a shareholder in Spanish club Real Oviedo. I started watching the Cosmos two seasons ago when they signed Raul and I’ve been hooked ever since. One of the best sports moments I’ve ever been a part of was the US Open cup match against NYCFC. At that match, we really got to see how great the Cosmos could be if they could consistently play in a sold out-arena. I got my start writing here over the summer and I’ve been covering the Cosmos ever since. Outside of soccer my other interests include writing poetry, film and tech.

I’d like to take the time to thank our former site manager Jonathan Liebling for being there every step of the way on my journey with Twice A Cosmo. Jonathan has moved on to take over one of Brace the Hammer, SB Nation’s brand new West Ham site.

As you may have noticed, Twice A Cosmo has been in a transition period. With Jonathan focusing on West Ham, most of the posting has come from me. As a full-time student it’s been hard to stay on top of everything, but I’ve done my best my keep the ship steady. However, going forward, we’re going to need more hands on deck.

This is where you guys come in. Twice A Cosmo is looking for new writers and we want to hear your voice! If you’re looking to break into the world of sports journalism, writing for us could be a great way to get your foot in the door. Our writers are unpaid, but you do get to have your work published, and writing for SB Nation looks great on a resume. Also, in the past our writers have also been able to cover Cosmos home games as a member of the press, attend press conferences, and interview players.

No experience is required, but we want writers who are committed and passionate. If you are interested email me a writing sample at michaeljchiara@gmail.com.

Finally, thank you all for your support. As Site Manager of Twice A Cosmo, I promise to do my best to deliver quality content about the New York Cosmos. I hope you are as excited as I am for the future of the club and this blog.

Thanks and Go Cosmos,

Michael Chiara
