Miami FC have made it official. The North American Soccer League club, who will begin play in 2016, have hired Italian legend Alessandro Nesta to be the first head coach in the club's history.

Not only will this be a coaching first for Miami FC, but it's the first coaching job for Nesta, who only retired from playing in 2014. The Italian was a very, very good player, and given the cerebral nature of this playing style, there's little reason to think that this won't translate to a successful coaching career.
Nesta will now begin the difficult task of building a roster that can compete in Miami. Regardless of what transpires on the pitch next spring, though, the addition of yet another footballing legend to the NASL family should continue to draw eyeballs, which will help the league as a whole.
