Report: Miami FC to be coached by Italian legend Alessandro Nesta

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

The Cosmos look set to sign Greek international Georgios Samaras in the near future, but they aren't the only North American Soccer League club making waves on Monday. According to reports in Miami, expansion side Miami FC are set to sign an Italian legend, with an announcement expected later today:

Nesta retired in 2014, and Miami would be the first stop of his professional coaching career. The player should have plenty of valuable knowledge to pass on to a young team, however, as he's one of the best center backs to ever play the game, and has played at the top levels of both club and international football.

It will be interesting to watch how Miami FC compete with Beckham FC (should that project ever happen) in the long term, but they're certainly managing to attract some big names of their own before ever playing a match.
