Two New York Cosmos players earn NASL Team of the Week honors

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

Following the victory over the San Antonio Scorpions this past weekend, a pair of New York Cosmos players have been named to the NASL Team of the Week. Both center back Roversio and midfielder Adam Moffat were recognized by the league for their performances on Saturday, which saw the boys in green move back atop the NASL combined table.

Here's what the NASL had to say about each of the pair:

DEF: Roversio (New York Cosmos) – Despite conceding a goal to the San Antonio Scorpions moments before halftime, the Cosmos put in a strong overall performance in a 2-1 win at home. The Brazilian center back was crucial in defense for New York, helping the club extend its overall unbeaten run to five games. The Cosmos are now unbeaten in their last 16 home matches.

MID: Adam Moffat (New York Cosmos) – The Scottish veteran patrolled the middle of the park and put in a well-rounded shift against the Scorpions. Moffat helped disrupt San Antonio’s rhythm in attacking positions, and played a part in creating several scoring chances for the Cosmos at the other end.

As always, congratulations go out to both New York players honored by the league. Hopefully, there's more awards to come for each.
