The New York Cosmos kick off the NASL fall season tonight against Indy Eleven, and already, we're seeing the club take a more conservative approach with injuries than they did during the spring. Having already clinched a home semifinal match by finishing atop the spring season standings, 'better safe than sorry' seems like a saying that we'll hear a lot this fall as far as injuries are concerned, and tonight's lineup, missing Raul, Roversio, and Ayoze seems to reflect that approach:

Interestingly, head coach Gio Savarese has elected to give Hunter Freeman the night off as well, while trying something different at left back following Hunter Gorskie's rough showing against the Red Bulls on Wednesday. It looks as if we're in for a little formation experimentaion as well, with the boys in green starting two out and out strikers, as opposed to either Raul or Andres Flores, who are more likely to sit in the hole behind Lucky Mkosana.
Meanwhile, Indy Eleven will line up as follows:
Indy Eleven XI (4-4-2): Nicht; Franco, Miller, Norales (c), Hyland; Stojkov, Ring, Mares, Smart; Wojcik, Lacroix

While the stakes aren't nearly as high this fall, here's hoping that the Cosmos rebound from Wednesday's loss, and get their first ever win against the Eleven.
