New York Cosmos extend another key starter

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Cosmos have been working hard to keep the core of their team around, reaching agreements for extensions with several players who have been with the club since 2013 in the past several weeks. On Wednesday, the boys in green added right back Hunter Freeman to the list of players that have signed extensions, as the club confirmedthat the defender had signed a new contract, without disclosing the specifics of the deal.

Freeman was obviously pleased to have his new contract sorted, and had the following to say after signing his new deal;

"This is a special club with a unique culture so there was no hesitation on my part in signing a new deal. Now that the contract is out of the way, I’m just focused on the fall and helping this team try to win some additional silverware."

Hopefully, that push for silverware gets back on track this weekend, when the Cosmos host the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
