Apparently, the North American Soccer League has quite a following in the NBA. First, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks decided to purchase a club in Puerto Rico, that will begin play in 2016. On Friday, the New York Cosmos might have one-upped the NBA great, possibly signing 41-year old point guard Steve Nash.
Have your read that last sentence twice yet? Good. Here's a screen grab from the NPSL website's Cosmos B roster page, hinting that the former Pheonix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers star is now a member of Cosmos B.
I have no idea whether or not the Canadian basketball star has much of a background with soccer (I'd assume he can play a bit, though), but he's a great guy by all accounts and will certainly attract more eyeballs to the NPSL. More eyeballs are always a good thing, especially if it means there will be streams out there of Cosmos B matches in the future.
