If the Italian news site Tutto Mercato is to be believed, the Cosmos are already eyeing a replacement for Spanish midfielder and major player Marcos Senna in Palermo's Enzo Maresca.
Senna, 39 years old, is ending his tenure at the Cosmos at the end of the season, and the club is in search of a replacement for the dynamic midfielder.
According to the Italian source, the experienced 35 year old Maresca is in talks with the Cosmos and a decision between the clubs may come in the next few days. While the club does have a few players in their ranks that could fill in for Senna, they may be looking for external experience in the form of this former Juventus and Sevilla striker. Known for his dynamic attack and defense, Maresca could be a worthy replacement for the critical hole in our midfield that the departure of Senna will leave.
The Cosmos still have one open international roster spot, so they could feasibly add the player immediately if they wanted to. They'll also have at least one more international spot opening up this winter, when Senna retires.
