The Fort Lauderdale Strikers had some exciting news for their fans on Thursday, announcing that they'll be hosting Argentine club Boca Juniors on July 1. For those not familiar, Boca have won the Argentine first division 30 times, and were once the home of Diego Maradona. In addition, they've won international tournaments on 18 different occasions, more than any other club on the planet.

This is the second time this year that the Strikers have had a famous visitor from South America, as Corinthians paid the club a visit this past winter. The ownership group in charge seems to have big plans in that regard, and it will be interesting to see what other opponents they can come up with over the next several seasons.

Obviously, the South Florida club isn't alone in organizing big friendlies, as the New York Cosmos just returned from their historic match against the Cuban national team. Fans of the Strikers can get tickets to the match for just $29. season ticket holders will be admitted for free.
