Raul is the only New York Cosmos player in NASL Team of the Week

New York Cosmos

The New York Cosmos had a rough match this weekend, struggling to a 1-1 draw with Minnesota United FC. Until the dying moments of that contest, it looked as if United might get their first ever victory over the boys in green, but Raul's dramatic goal salvaged a point for Gio Savarese's side.

It's unsurprising, then, that Raul was named to the NASL's Team of the Week, making him the only New York player honored. Here's what the league's website had to say about his performance:

Raúl (New York Cosmos): The Spanish forward showed the touch of class that made him a Real Madrid legend against Minnesota, chesting down a superb long ball from Andrés Flores and firing a shot past goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock for a 90th-minute equalizer at NSC Stadium.

In addition to Raul, former Cosmos' player Joseph Nane earned recognition, after the Scorpions' midfielder scored the first goal of his NASL career. As always, congratulations to Raul, and also to Nane.
