Cosmos players speak ahead of US Open Cup derby against the Red Bulls

Last season, the New York Cosmos embarrassed the New York Red Bulls at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium, knocking the MLS side out of the US Open Cup with an emphatic 3-0 victory. That scoreline might not have done the Cosmos' performance justice, either, as that match could have easily been far more lopsided than it turned out. This season, the two sides will meet again at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, and the Cosmos don't appear to be taking their opponents lightly, regardless of what happened the last time these two clubs met.

When defeating NYCFC to set up this showdown with the Red Bulls, the boys in green were without a pair of key players in Roversio and Marcos Senna. Both missed the showdown with the Red Bulls last season as well, but appear to be healthy and ready to go on Wednesday evening.

For those looking to get a look at our next opponents in advance of Wednesday's match, they take on NYCFC on Sunday.
