Leo Moura looking to leave the Strikers, return to Brazil

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers pulled off something of a coup this offseason when they reached an agreement on a three-year deal with Leo Moura. Just five months into that contract, it sounds as if the player isn't happy, and would like to return to Brazil. 90 Minutes Strong is reporting that Moura hasn't settled in North America, and has already reached an agreement with Vasco de Gama.

Moura had close ties to several members to the Strikers' coaching staff and front office who were let go last week, so it's not all that surprising to hear that the Brazilian (or his agent) is agitating for a move. It will be interesting to see whether or not the club simply cuts ties and moves on, or if they look to make a move a bit more difficult by extracting a sizable transfer fee.

Regardless, it looks as if the under-performing Strikers will have a large hole to fill, on top of a new coaching staff, ahead of the NASL fall season.
