Seeing New York Cosmos players named to the North American Soccer League Team of the Week has been a regular occurrence during the spring season, but following the draw against the Carolina RailHawks this past Saturday evening, only one of the boys in green found himself among this week's eleven man squad. That player? Last second goal scorer Andres Flores.
Here's what the NASL's website had to say about his performance:
Andrés Flores (New York Cosmos) – As a second-half substitute, Flores couldn’t have made a bigger impact in the match against the Carolina RailHawks. After an own goal in the 90th minute opened the door for a Cosmos comeback, the Salvadoran National Team captain scored a dramatic equalizer to rescue a point for the visitors. Flores ran onto an attempted RailHawks clearance and fired first time for the game-tying goal in the 97th minute.
Congratulations to Andres, and hopefully next week will se the return of multiple player named to the group.
