Strikers fill final international slot, won't be adding Loco Abreu

During the offseason, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers did very well for themselves by targeting Brazilian talent. On Wednesday, they added yet another Brazilian attacker, when they announced the signing of Bruno Nunes.

The addition of Bruno, who will wear number 90 for the Strikers, realistically ends the clubs pursuit of Uruguay international Loco Abreu, as Fort Lauderdale no longer has an open international roster slot to fill. Strikers' soccer director Andre Chaves had the following to say about the latest addition:

"Bruno is an exciting goalscorer, who is skillful on the ball and a clinical finisher in front of the net. As he settles into a new country and team, we expect he will strengthen the attacking side of our game and provide coach Neveleff with more options up top."

He'll have plenty of time to settle before Cosmos fans get a first hand look at him, as the two clubs have already played their lone meeting of the NASL spring season. The sides will next meet on August 2, 2015 at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium.
