Fort Lauderdale Strikers 0 - New York Cosmos 1: Highlights

The Cosmos hit the road to open the 2015 North American Soccer League season, and group out a tough 1-0 victory in front of a record crowd at Lockhart Stadium. Head coach Gio Savarese was thrilled with the result, and the clean sheet to start the season:

"The team showed a lot of character and personality tonight. We were able to battle and keep a clean sheet in a game that was very difficult. We looked like a team that was ready to step onto the field and battle. It was an important one for us to start on the right foot."

Goal scorer Leo Fernandes was also very pleased after the match, and rightfully so:

"It's an amazing feeling. Ever since I joined the Cosmos I've been very happy. It's great to score in my first game."

The only bad news of the evening was the injury suffered by Raul, which forced the striker off after less than an hour of play. We should have an update on his hamstring after it's evaluated Tuesday.
