NASL expansion talk has been a big topic for most of the offseason, with the league needing to expand into the western timezone by the start of the 2016 season in order to maintain division 2 status. We've been hearing that an announcement about a move to Los Angeles would be coming soon. despite those reports, on Thursday, ESPN's Jeff Carlisle Tweeted that he has been hearing otherwise:
I'm hearing that the proposed deal to bring an #nasl team to LA is in danger of falling apart. At minimum, it will be pushed out to 2016.

If the league isn't going to be announcing Los Angeles expansion soon, they really need to be announcing the addition of a west coast club as soon as possible. It's something to be watching, even if the threat of the league losing its division two standing to the USL isn't really likely anytime soon.
