The New York Cosmos have been looking to add depth to their defensive unit thiswinter, and one of the players they took a hard look at was Canadian international Nana Attakora. The center back was trialing with the Cosmos prior to their trip to Hong Kong, but ended up leaving the club shortly after they agreed to a deal with Paraguayan Samuel Caceres.
It didn't take Attakora long to find a new home, as the San Antonio Scorpions announced on Wednesday that they had reached an agreement with the MLS veteran. That gives the reigning NASL champions 14 players under contract for the 2015 season, meaning they still have quite a bit more work to do before kickoff in April.
For the Cosmos, the search for defensive depth will undoubtedly continue. Roversio is already struggling with injury and will likely miss tonight's preseason match in California, meaning the addition of Caceres will probably need to be followed up with a bit more back line depth.
