Stefano Pinho had an amazing season for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, leading the club to a second straight playoff appearance en route to being named MVP of the North American Soccer League. According to reports in Brazil, Pinho is about to turn that fantastic season into a very nice new contract.
According to OGol, Pinho has agreed to two-year deal with MLS-bound Minnesota United, which should be announced very shortly. This comes after the Strikers made the player a 'significant contract offer' of their own, in hopes of keeping their top scorer in South Florida for the foreseeable future.
For United, this would be a major bonus after missing out on Tom Heinemann, who agreed to join the Tampa Bay Rowdies. For Fort Lauderdale, however, this will leave a huge hole to fill in the center of their attack should they hope to make the playoffs for a third straight season.
