ONE World Sports to air documentary chronicling the New York Cosmos trip to Cuba

In June, the New York Cosmos made some history, traveling to Havana, Cuba, and taking on the Cuba national team. ONE World Sports was there to televise and stream the match, and on Saturday, November 7, they'll debut the documentary which they produced, chronicling both the experience and the match.

ONE will be broadcasting the Cosmos' semifinal match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Saturday, which kicks off at 2 pm ET. Immediately following that contest, they'll debut "A Bridge to Cuba", the first in a series of OWS original features.

ONE World Sports Executive Vice President of Programming and Production, Joel Feld, shared a few thoughts about the experience and many fans' views on the United States:

"When we embarked on this trip to Cuba, we knew we were in a unique position to have an insider’s view of history being made. What amazed us even more was how welcoming the country was in giving us such free access to the city, the people and the Cuban Federation to communicate their thoughts, their overall impressions of the U.S. and the role soccer has played in bridging the gap between once opposing nations. ONE World Sports Originals looks forward to creating more stories that draw our viewers into the personality, passion and emotion that is evoked through sport."

Senior Producer/Editor of Original Content, Charles Berlepsch, really wants to convey the experience with the film:

"I think viewers will not only be transported to a city frozen in time, but will virtually share the journey we had in making A Bridge to Cuba. This film not only captures the team’s trip to Havana but demonstrates the effect soccer has had on the Cuban community as well as how sports are at the forefront in bridging the gap between the U.S. and Cuban people."

The film is set to debut at 4 pm ET on November 7th, so hopefully the Cosmos cooperate with that plan and take care of the Strikers without extra time, which would force the debut to be delayed.
