Report: Paul Dalglish to be named Ottawa Fury head coach on Friday

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Marc dos Santos has announced that he'll be leaving Ottawa Fury FC, and he's expected to make a move to MLS side Sporting Kansas City official on Friday. According to the Ottawa Sun, Fury fans will also be presented with their new man in charge on Friday, with the club expected to confirm the hiring of Paul Dalglish.

Dalglish is the son of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, and made many stops in his playing career throughout England, Scotland, and Houston. since hanging up his boots, he's been coaching in the United States, with head coaching jobs in Austin and Tampa Bay, as well as assistant coaching jobs with a pair of MLS franchises. He was named the 2013 PDSL Coach of the Year when with the Aztex.

It's a bit of a surprise that the club has opted to look outside of the organization, as many thought that dos Santos' successor would be assistant Martin Nash. Dalglish will have his work cut out for him, as it will be very difficult to replicate the season Ottawa just had.
