The New York Cosmos need a win on Sunday, and winning by a few would help. The San Antonio Scorpions are simply playing out the schedule at this point, and many players are probably already thinking about next season. With questions about how large a crowd we'll see due to the scheduling change, the stage is set for the Cosmos to get the sort of result they need in Texas on Sunday.
Head coach Gio Savarese is clearly looking to win, and to turn in the sort of performance that gets NASL opposition worried heading into the playoffs. He's selected the following group for Sunday's penultimate match against the Scorpions.

Meanwhile, the Scorpions will go with the following lineup against the spring season champions.

With any luck, the boys in green will earn the result that they need. If not, next weekend's match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies could be a chance to see some of the squad's fringe players.
