The United States got off to a poor start in the FIFA U17 World Cup, losing to Nigeria by a 2-0 score, and losing a defender to a red card. The squad will be looking to right the ship on Tuesday, when they take on Croatia.
Head Coach Richie WIlliams may look to make some changes to a lineup that looked a bit over-matched in the first contest, though Cosmos' forward Haji Wright is still a near certainty to start. Defender Alexis Velela, also with the Cosmos, could be in contention for minutes as well, especially with Philadelphia Union product Auston Trusty being suspended for his red card in the opener.
For the US, this one probably isn't a must-win affair, as the opening draw between Croatia and Chile leave the US a tiny margin of error. They'll need to take at least a point from this one, however, if they want to avoid elimination before the final group stage match, and taking three would be quite nice.
