Minnesota United have made another addition to their squad for the 2015 season, adding Northern Ireland international Jonny Steele. Steele most recently played a short stint in Australia, where he played a pair of games with the Newcastle Jets. Prior to that he was with the New York Red Bulls, and actually played against the New York Cosmos in 2014.
In addition to 50 appearances for the Red Bulls, Steele has spent time with Real Salt Lake in MLS. Before that, he made two NASL stops, with the Carolina RailHawks and Puerto Rico Islanders. He also spent time with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Vancouver Whitecaps before the current NASL came into being.
Minnesota also announced on Thursday that they've reached an agreement with Greg Jordan on a contract extension, which will see the midfielder remain with the team for a second season. Jordan saw action 23 times during the 2014 campaign, including 12 starts and 11 substitute appearances.
