According to reports in Italy, the New York Cosmos are close to finalizing a deal for a potential replacement for Alessandro Noselli. The club are supposedly closing in on an agreement with Caetano Calil, who has spent the last several years playing in Italy.
Calil is Brazilian born, and would occupy one of the Cosmos' two free international roster spots*. The 30-year old would be joining from Varese, which currently plays in Serie B, the Italian second division.
*Spots opened up last week with the departures of Noselli and Paulo Mendes
Prior to joining Varese, Calil made stops at Crotone, Frosinone, and Siena in Italy along with several stops in Brazil.
