The New York Cosmos had a conference call this afternoon to update the status of forward Alessandro Noselli, who has missed the start of the NASL fall season while dealing with family matters. Head coach Gio Savarese confirmed on Thursday that the Italian forward is expected to miss the remainder of the 2014 NASL fall season.

Noselli has been a big part of the Cosmos' success since their reboot last fall, and was performing at a high level before leaving the club over the World Cup break. In his absence, the club will have to hope that Hans Denissen remains healthy enough to remain in the starting eleven, and that Stefan Dimitrov can chip in with some goals as well.

Noselli isn't expected to be the only player departing today, as coach Savarese hinted that Paulo Mendes is likely to leave on loan very shortly. There will likely be another addition to the squad in short order as well.
