The New York Cosmos have confirmed on Monday that they've acquired another player on loan. The club has reached an agreement with the New York Red Bulls to bring defender Connor Lade to Long Island. As usual with the club, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lade looked like an excellent p;layer for the MLS side in his first several seasons in the league, but found himself frozen out of the Red Bulls rotation this season. The youngster has barely seen any time on the pitch in 2014, and the move was likely made in hopes of solving that problem.
What isn't clear is where Lade will fit in with the Cosmos, as the club has plenty of depth and quality in their fullbacks and wide midfield. At worst he'll be excellent depth, but I'm not sure he'll see extended time on the pitch unless injury or suspension strike. Depth is still a good thing though, especially for a team that's been struggling of late.
