Report: Red Bulls Loan Connor Lade to Cosmos

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Red Bulls have loaned defender Connor Lade to the Cosmos, according to multiple online reports.

Big Apple Soccer was first to report the loan of the 24-year-old and says the deal could be announced as early as Monday. Lade has been with the Red Bulls for the past three years.

The Red Bulls signed Lade on December 5, 2011 as a homegrown player and the Livingston, New Jersey native saw plenty of playing time his first year. During the 2012 campaign Lade appeared in 26 matches and saw 2,088 minutes of playing time. That was the most he saw his three years with the Red Bulls.

Lade's 2013 season was marred by injury, limiting him to just five appearances and 166 minutes of playing time. This season he has seen a mere 10 minutes of action of Mike Petke's squad.

The Cosmos are coming off a 1-1 Draw against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and the Red Bulls defeated Arsenal F.C. on Saturday, a match which Lade entered in at the 81st minute.
