The Cosmos are set to take on the Philadelphia Union in just a few minutes' time, with a spot in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals on the line. A victory tonight would see the Cosmos hosting the winner of the Rochester Rhinos/New England Revolution match at St. John's.
Before thinking about the quarters, though, the Cosmos need to get through a Union side that has been struggling thus far in 2014. The club under-performed enough that they've already made a managerial change this season.
Gio Savarese hasn't opted to shake things up too much, selecting the following squad tonight:
Starting lineup: Maurer; Freeman, Mendes, Roversio, Ayoze; Guenzatti, Nane, Szetela, Chirishian; Stokkelien, Noselli
Bench: Zobeck, Gorskie, Ockford, Murphy, Dimitrov, Denissen, Johnson
Tonight's game can be seen if you subscribe to NASL Live, and the Union are also streaming it live on their website. Keep those fingers crossed, and let's hope the Cosmos play as well as they did against Red Bull.
