No Cosmos' players named to the NASL team of the week

The league didn't see any standouts on the Cosmos this week

USA TODAY Sports

For the second week running, no New York Cosmos' players were named to the NASL team of the week. There were two of our opponents from week four named to the squad, as goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald and midfielder Ty Shipalane were both honored by the league.

Here's the full team of the week named today:

Goalkeeper

Akira Fitzgerald, Carolina RailHawks

Defenders

Tiago Calvano, Minnesota United FC

Ivan Guerrero, Fort Lauderdale Strikers

Mike Randolph, Atlanta Silverbacks

Midfielders

Shane Hill, Tampa Bay Rowdies

Daniel Mendes, Minnesota United FC

Fafà Picault, Fort Lauderdale Strikers

Ty Shipalane, Carolina RailHawks

Forwards

Daryl Fordyce, FC Edmonton

Deon McCauley, Atlanta Silverbacks

Christian Ramirez, Minnesota United FC

Hopefully things will get back to normal next week, and we'll see a few Cosmos' players named to the squad with a few less Minnesota players joining them. As long as the club manage to return to its past winning ways, that should happen.
