Minnesota United have looked like the best side in the league for the early portion of the 2014 season, but it doesn't look as if they're content to rest with the squad they've already assembled. Earlier on Monday, the club announced that they had signed Australian international forward Richard Garcia.
Garcia was teammates with current Loon defender Tiago Calvano last season with Sydney. He spent the majority of his career in England though, including spells at West Ham United, Colchester United, and Hull City.
Garcia should help add depth to an attack that has already lost their best player, Pablo Campos, to a serious knee injury this season. Frankly, United had very few question marks in their squad to begin with, and if Garcia can help add some consistent goal scoring punch to the lineup, Minnesota will be even more difficult to beat than they already are. That might not be great news for their next opponents, the New York Cosmos.
