Cosmos need to win in Florida to stay in title hunt

The Cosmos look for their fifth win of the season on Saturday

Week eight of the NASL season could be a make or break affair for the New York Cosmos. They'll be in Florida, taking on the NASL's top scoring club, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. The Cosmos, on the other hand, boast the league's best defensive unit, having allowed just three goals in their eight competitive games played in 2014.

Hopes of a spring title are still alive, though the club need Minnesota United to lose one of their final two games in order for the Cosmos to capitalize. Should that occur, the New York club is in good shape to top the table based on goal differential.

New York will be playing without Marcos Senna for the second consecutive match, meaning that Joseph Nane and Danny Szetela will likely be paired in the midfield. Diomar Diaz and Roversio are also question marks, meaning that the goalscorers from the midweek U.S. Open Cup contest might be looking at a second consecutive start.

Tonight's game will kick off at 7:30 pm EDT, and will be streamed through NASL Live. The Cosmos will also be hosting a viewing party, the details of which can be found here.
