New York Cosmos vs. Indy Eleven: Preview

The spring season is winding down as the Cosmos host one of the league's new sides

Mike Zarrilli

The Cosmos have closed the gap at the top of the table to just three points, but will need a win tonight and some help in order to end week seven atop the spring season table. They'll be looking to take advantage of one of the weaker opponents on their schedule, as the Eleven sit alone at the bottom and have yet to win since joining the NASL.

Indy has been pretty terrible defensively, allowing 14 goals in the six games they've played. The Cosmos are at the opposite end of the defensive spectrum, having conceded just twice during the 2014 season. Both teams have found the back of the net nine times this spring.

With those numbers in mind as well as the possession dominance we've seen from the Cosmos, it's hard to believe that New York will struggle to create opportunities tonight. If they make the most of their chances this evening, it should be a happy crowd departing just after 9 pm.
