Scorpions, Strikers pile pressure on the Cosmos

Four out of five week five games have been completed

USA TODAY Sports

Four of the five games during the fifth week of the NASL season have been played, and now that they've been completed, a pair of teams are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the NASL pack. Here are the week five results:

Ottawa Fury 1 - Tampa Bay Rowdies 1

Fort Lauderdale Strikers 4 - Atlanta Silverbacks 0

Indy Eleven 1 - FC Edmonton 2

San Antonio Scorpions 3 - Carolina RailHawks 0

The big winners here are clearly the Strikers, who moved level with Minnesota United on 12 points with their win. San Antonio jumped into third with nine points, and the margin of their victory over Carolina will help them greatly in the goal differential department.

Edmonton's win moves them off of the bottom of the table, jumping them ahead of the team that they just defeated. For Tampa Bay and Ottawa though, the draw pretty much ends any chance that either of those clubs had at lifting the spring title.
