Cosmos bring back Alessandro Noselli for 2014

The man that scored the winner in last season's opener will have the chance to do so again in 2014

The Cosmos announced a move today that should come as no surprise, confirming that forward Alessandro Noselli will be returning for the 2014 season. As with all roster announcements from the club, no financial details were made public with the announcement of the signing.

Noselli made ten appearances for the club last season, including four starts and six appearances from the bench. He scored three times for Gio Savarese's side in that time, including the winner in the opener against Ft. Lauderdale. The forward came through the youth ranks at the Udinese academy, before forging a career for himself in the lower divisions of Italian football. The vast majority of that career was spent in the second division, where he found the back of the net fairly regularly.

Alessandro had the following to say about re-signing with the club:

"I’m extremely excited about staying on with the team. We play an attractive possession-based style that is perfect for an attacking player such as myself. The camaraderie on this squad between the players is special and I’m looking forward to defending our championship title."

Interestingly enough, Noselli is one of three players on the current Cosmos roster that has taken part in the Cosmos Copa.
