The Cosmos have announced their schedule for the 2014 spring season, which will consist of a single game against every other NASL opponent. The complete fixture list is as follows:

NY Cosmos vs. Atlanta Silverbacks – Sunday, April 13, 5:00 p.m. EDT

FC Edmonton vs. NY Cosmos – Saturday, April 19, 9:00 p.m. EDT

NY Cosmos vs. San Antonio Scorpions – Saturday, April 26, 7:00 p.m. EDT

Carolina RailHawks vs. NY Cosmos – Saturday, May 3, 7:00 p.m. EDT

NY Cosmos vs. Minnesota United – Monday, May 12, 7:30 p.m. EDT

Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. NY Cosmos– Saturday, May 17, 7:30 p.m. EDT

NY Cosmos vs. Indy Eleven – Saturday, May 24, 7:00 p.m. EDT

Fort Lauderdale Strikers vs. NY Cosmos – Saturday, May 31, 7:30 p.m. EDT

NY Cosmos vs. Ottawa Fury FC – Sunday, June 8, 5:00 p.m. EDT

The home side is listed first for all contests

With only nine games to be played during the first segment of the season, a fast start will be crucial. The Cosmos' opener will mark the third consecutive competitive match in which they've faced the Atlanta Silverbacks, after defeating them in both the fall season finale and the 2013 Soccer Bowl.

The Cosmos may have a slight advantage as the spring schedule unfolds, as five of their nine matches will be played in front of a friendly crowd. That's likely a good thing for the NASL, as New York's attendance figures will be expected to be among the largest in the league.

The winner of the 2014 spring season will earn a place in November's Soccer Bowl, as well as the right to host the game. The Soccer Bowl in NYC sounds fun, doesn't it?
