The Tampa Bay Rowdies are going to look an awful lot different for the 2015 season. After signing coach Thomas Rongen to replace Ricky Hill, the club have begun rebuilding the spine of a squad that has been shaky at the back for the past few seasons. Earlier in the week, the club announced the latest addition to the group, center back Brad Rusin.
Rusin is a 6'4" center back with MLS experience, having played for the Vancouver Whitecaps during the 2013 season. He spent 2014 with Orlando City, and will now try his luck in the NASL.
Rusin will likely start alongside fellow new signing Gale Agbossoumande, who also brings MLS experience to the center of the defense. Combined with all-NASL right back Darnell King and holding midfielder Juan Guerra, it should be a very different looking Rowdies' squad in 2015. If the new group gels quickly, they could make a serious push for a playoff spot next season.
