New York Cosmos sign Andres Flores to multi-year deal, extend Jimmy Mulligan

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Cosmos have struck a deal to acquire Andres Flores on a permanent basis. The El Salvador international arrived on loan for the fall season in 2014, and had an up and down time during his spell with the Cosmos. The player certainly showed enough flashes of attacking excellence to warrant a permanent deal though, and the club announced today that he has signed a multi-year deal.

Flores struggled with injuries during his time with the club, but did manage seven starts and one substitute appearance during his time with the club. He scored one goal and assisted another in those showings, while also being an unused substitute on two occasions.

The club also confirmed that Jimmy Mulligan has signed a contract extension, without disclosing the terms of the agreement. In all likelihood, that means one guaranteed season with the option for a second, but that's just speculation based on previous deals. Mulligan made two starts for the Cosmos in 2014, and was an unused substitute on two other occasions.
