The 2015 North American Soccer League spring schedule was released on Wednesday morning, and the Cosmos will kickoff on the road. As there are now 11 teams competing for the spring title, each team will play 10 total contests, including five each at home and on the road. As with last year, the team that finishes atop the spring season table will host a semifinal playoff game.
New York not only kicks off on the road this season, but will play three of their opening four fixtures away from home. Given the unpredictable nature of northeastern Aprils, that may not be the worst thing the NASL could have done.
One problem created with an odd number of clubs is the need for an NFL-style "bye" week. For the Cosmos, this happens to fall during the 10th week of matches, scheduled for June 6, 2014. The full spring schedule is as follows (home side listed first, kickoff times yet TBD):
Saturday, April 4, 2015: Fort Lauderdale Stirikers vs. New York Cosmos
Saturday, April 11, 2015: Indy Eleven vs. New York Cosmos
