The MLS expansion draft has just been completed, and somewhat surprisingly, a player that finished last season with the New York Cosmos has been selected. With their eighth selection in the expansion draft, Orlando City selected Danny Mwanga from the Colorado Rapids.

Colorado declined the 2015 option on Mwanga's contract earlier this month, but the former #1 overall pick in the MLS draft was still available in Wednesday's expansion draft. His selection likely ends any chance that the player returns to the Cosmos for the 2015 season.
What New York does to replace Mwanga on the opening day roster will be interesting, though with the signing of Raul, the need for a goal scorer is somewhat smaller than it was a year ago at this time. Still, I'd like to think the Cosmos aren't done adding to the attack.
