San Antonio to host Fort Lauderdale in The Championship Final

USA TODAY Sports

The San Antonio Strikers defeated the New York Cosmos in extra time on Saturday, advancing the Texas side to The Championship Final of the Soccer Bowl trophy next weekend. Joining them in that contest will be the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, who managed to knock off top seeded Minnesota United in penalties after a stoppage time equalizer. As San Antonio are now the highest seed remaining in the field, they'll host the contest next Saturday.

On Sunday, the NASL announced the details of the event. The game will kick off at 7:30 Ct (8:30 ET) at Toyota Park in San Antonio, and should be available for most fans to watch for free. As with the semifinal matches, both ESPN3 and NASL Live will stream coverage live, while ONE World Sports will televise the contest.

Unfortunately for Cosmos fans, the boys in green won't be defending their 2013 NASL title. I'm curious to see who everyone would like to see emerge victorious, however, so there's a poll below for you to share your thoughts.
